Youth Mental Health Initiative (YMHI)

The Youth Mental Health Initiative (YMHI) is a three year program funded by the Chagnon Foundation (FLAC) and the Secrétariat à la jeunesse (SAJ). The Community Health and Social Services Network (CHSSN) oversees the program and is present to provide information and guidance to Vision.

The YMHI aims to increase the mental wellbeing of youth between the ages of 15 to 29 through mental health prevention, mental health promotion and mental health literacy.

Vision is currently working together with its community partners to help increase knowledge of the various support services available to youth in our territory. Regionally, Vision is collaborating with CASA and CAMI on a campaign to reduce mental health stigma. Locally, Vision provides health and wellness workshops and activities directly to youth, and will facilitate a Youth Action Committee to encourage youth leadership.
